My explanation of the oil business as I see it. A lot of these resolves has been published here in Canada in the business press.
In the 1960's oil was produced at the cost way below $5.00 per barrel. Some of the oil from Arabian sources is still produced at very low cost, the best quality liter crude. The producers are starting to drill again, they found similar low cost oil and are able to replace the oil that is presently produced. In the rest of the world production costs are much higher. At the present prices, there must be an incredible amount of oil available.
In the U.S.A. there is a declining amount of undeveloped oil to be produced, but incredibly as it may sound, off shore Alaska has oil and gas that was found in the 1970's period. Several agreements have been signed to build pipelines from Alaska to Alberta Canada to ship the gas down South to the U.S.A. but due to costs involved, it never happened.

Presently there are negotiations on going, relating to CanadianOil, but the producers are barking at the costs again and now the governor of Alaska is ready to force the issue. TransCanada Pipelines have been selected to build it many years ago it is the biggest pipeline company in Canada, though not the only one and at one time it was a gas pipeline company, but now some of the lines are being converted from carrying gas to oil, because the increasing heavy oil production from Alberta. The development from off shore Alaska and the Canadian North has been suspended because of costs of production and shipping but with global warming, it will be soon possible to use tankers as well as pipelines to ship production south. by A. CanadianOil, as far as the oil sands sale goes in Canada, we have developed sources of suspected oil as much or more than what are available from other sources. It is not cheap oil and it is difficult to refine but there are a number of American refiners are partnering with Canadian and American producers operating in Canada, to refine the heavy oil in the U.S.A. The availability is safe and secure and worth the trouble to modify existing refineries. Heavy oil has been produced in Canada for many years now, from the oil sands, but it has not been very profitable until oil prices went up, like at present. There are some developmental projects going, that would reduce cost of production a lot producing a lot higher quality of oil. A. Stephan Lanczi (To Be Continued…)
